Dental Crowns and Bridges in Noblesville, IN
Supporting, strengthening, and giving a tooth the ability to handle the load again.
A weak, damaged, or missing tooth does not have to stay that way. Crowns and bridges are two of dentistry’s most dependable repairs, and at Noblesville Dental Associates each one is made for your mouth specifically, not pulled off a shelf.
What Is a Dental Crown?
A crown, sometimes called a cap, is a tooth-shaped restoration that fits over a tooth and restores its strength, size, shape, and natural appearance. We offer a range of crown materials, including lithium disilicate, zirconia, and even gold, depending on what your tooth needs.
Reasons we may recommend a crown:
- To protect a damaged or weak tooth, or hold a cracked tooth together
- To restore a tooth with severe wear, often from teeth grinding (a night guard can help protect it afterward)
- To support a tooth with a large filling and little structure remaining
- To strengthen a tooth after root canal treatment
- To cover a dental implant or anchor a bridge when replacing missing teeth
- To improve the appearance of a misshapen, severely discolored, chipped, or gapped tooth
Many single crowns can also be milled and placed in one visit with our CEREC system; see same-day crowns.
How the Crown or Bridge Procedure Works
Step 1. We prepare the tooth or teeth involved. For an implant-supported bridge, we first place implants on either side of the gap and let the area heal before crafting the restoration.
Step 2. We capture digital scans that the dental laboratory uses as the blueprint for your crown or bridge, and place a comfortable temporary while yours is made.
Step 3. When your custom restoration is ready, we bond it in place and fine-tune the fit and bite. The finished crown or bridge looks, feels, and works like your natural teeth.
What Is a Dental Bridge?
A bridge is a fixed prosthetic that replaces one or several missing teeth in a row: natural-looking replacement teeth secured to crowns on the healthy teeth at either side of the gap.
For added stability, ask about an implant-supported bridge. It anchors to implants instead of your natural teeth, so no healthy tooth structure is altered, and with proper care it can last indefinitely.
What a bridge does for you:
- Fills the gap left by missing teeth and completes your smile
- Lets you enjoy the foods you love and speak clearly again
- Rebalances your bite, reducing the risk of wear or fracture elsewhere
- Keeps surrounding teeth from drifting out of position
- Supports your facial structure and natural contours

FAQs About Dental Crowns and Bridges
How are crowns and bridges different?
A crown restores a single tooth, while a bridge replaces missing teeth by bridging the gap with a series of crowns.
How long do crowns and bridges last?
Dental crowns and bridges typically last from 5 to 15 years, or even longer with proper care and maintenance.
How do I care for my crown or bridge?
Care for your restorations just as you would your natural teeth. Brush and floss regularly, avoid hard foods and using your teeth as tools, and keep up with your regular dental exams and cleanings.
